Abuse of the Badge!

Well hello to everyone who may come by this and takes the time to read my words and thoughts on this matter. I hope that if you find this and you have a story to tell or thoughts that you would share them. I am new to this so thank you for bearing with me as I work on putting this together.

Here a few months back I was pulled over and got a DUI arrest. Here is what happened.

I left my house to run to the gas station for a few things. It was about 2am so there are not a whole lot of places open in this town at that time. So I found an open 711 over off mulberry. I leave the gas station and head back home. Very shortly after leaving I noticed that I was being followed by a cop car. No big deal right? I knew that I was not doing anything wrong so I continued driving home. Now from when I noticed the cop following me to where my house is was around 2 1/2 miles. So I made plenty of turns, stop signs, lights, and those speed humps (that are all over the place) before getting to my home. Now it gets interesting! I pull into my driveway, turn off the car, and exited. Right as I shut my door the cop turns on his lights, Jumps out of his car and says to me "Sir do you know why I pulled you over?" The things that my mind wanted to say to him at that moment. So I said "Nope!" COP"Sir I pulled you over because you Failed To Signal into your Driveway." So I said the only thing that came to mind You're Joking right!! Well I got arrested and you know the rest. I did find out that the statute he got me on was a ft collins bicycle statute.

So what are your thoughts?
The reason that I wanted to start this up and put my story about this out there is to see what you think. To not only get feedback on this but really to see if there is anyone else who has had similar situation happen. There is also another aspect of this that has me very curious to see what took place and at one point finding out who the arresting agency and officer was? With my situation it was with the Larimer County Sheriff's office. It is this one in particular that I want to know if others have had a ridiculous meeting with. I will name him soon, but if anyone in the fort collins or surrounding areas reads the Coloradoan he was in an article that was on the front page about the DUI arrests in this area.

I have met others with similar situations as mine and I am wondering why is this being allowed to continue on like this. Yes dui's are serious but there are some very ridiculous cases that have got to be unjust. Just because they have a badge does not mean they should be allowed to abuse, and mistreat the citizens of this city. For this county to have over a Thousand DUI arrests consistently since 05 is fishy!! I will see if I can get a link to that article for those who have not seen it.
